As far as photography goes, it could be said that abandoned buildings were my first love. To me there was always something strangely beautiful, maybe because growing up there was one I would always see on the way to Bangor. I first started photographing abandoned structures spring of 2010 while in Maryland. I had seen quite a few and even drove through a literal ghost town.
These are the first two I took and what began the collection.
Since the first two I’ve taken several pictures of such subjects over the years. This collection is always a work in progress and I am always looking for more to add. It’s not only their strange, odd beauty that I love, but the fact that now I see these as ghosts; evidence that something was there.
